About Active Scene

A discovery engine for local dance events. The mission is simple — get people out of their homes, dancing, meeting other people, and connecting with their local scene.

The problem

Information about local classes, socials, and festivals is scattered. It lives in Instagram captions, Facebook events, school websites, Linktrees, group chats. To know what's on this Tuesday, you have to follow ten different accounts and remember to check.

What this site does

We aggregate events from a curated list of trusted dance organisers across the UK, then surface them by location, style, and time. Search by "tonight near me" — get a clean answer.

What we don't do

We don't sell tickets. When you find an event you like, we link out to wherever the organiser already runs their booking — Eventbrite, the school's own page, a WhatsApp group. Active Scene is a signpost, not a middleman.

Currently covering

The UK, with London as the main focus and a focus on social Latin dance — salsa, bachata, kizomba. Other styles and cities will follow.
